Welcome to AEW REVOLUTION 2025 Week! AEW DYNAMITE was
broadcast on TBS and streamed on MAX live from the
Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, CA!
Excalibur, “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz, Tony Schiavone,
and Ian Riccaboni were the broadcast team for tonight’s
event.
It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!
The cameras caught up with MJF!
MJF: “Adam, you decided to poke and prod the devil. What I
did to your boy Christopher Daniels was light work. But
Hangman, you’ve got me feeling hungry and wanting to prove a
point to your fan club. I’m not hard to find. I’m in the
streets of Sacramento. I’ve got a bullet with your name on
it. You want to shoot? Well saddle up and let’s ride!”
Up Next: The AEW Revolution Contract Signing for the Swerve
Strickland vs. Ricochet Match!
Tony Schiavone was in the ring and introduced Prince Nana
and Swerve Strickland who came out to the ring first.
Ricochet came out next to a chorus of thunderous boos.
Ricochet wasn’t wearing the stolen Embassy robe.
Ricochet: “You’ll see the robe on Sunday, don’t worry. Let’s
just say it’s getting some upgrades. I know that you have
done plenty of these contract signings before, but they
didn’t end up well for you, did they? You’re lucky that I’m
even here and humoring giving you a rematch because I should
be done with you.
“You were the one that stuck your nose in my business. You
chose to mock me. You chose to try to embarrass and bully
me. And what happened? I still beat you. I won and that’s
why you’re mad. Now I’m only one step closer to achieving my
goal of being AEW World champion. I’m focused on Jon Moxley
and Cope and on being who I was supposed to be, the AEW
World champion. Don’t let Prince Nana down.”
Swerve: “You are so annoying! You’re right. I started all of
this to expose you for the coward that you are and on Sunday
that’s exactly what I’m going to do. You stole the Embassy
robe. You stuck me in the head with a pair of scissors. But
the biggest mistake you made is you left me breathing. But
I’ll be breathing down your neck until I end you.
“Awakening the most dangerous man in AEW is a mistake you’re
going to regret. This Sunday at Revolution I carve my path
to the AEW World championship by putting you in the ground.”
Both men signed the contract, and it is official for Sunday!
Ricochet tried to cheap shot Swerve with a pair of scissors,
but Swerve blocked it and jabbed Ricochet in the head with a
pair of his own scissors!
“That gash is deep! Is that a preview of the level of
violence we’ll see on Sunday?” wondered Ian.
8-Man Tag Match!
Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, Mark Briscoe, & Orange
Cassidy
vs.
Bryan Keith, Mark Davis, and The Murder Machines—Lance
Archer, & Brian Cage (with Don Callis)!
Don Callis joined the broadcast team for this match.
Cage curled Ospreay and then planted him hard on the mat.
Cage followed up with lariats in the corner. Ospreay booted
Cage and then took him down with a back suplex. Briscoe
tagged in and dished out some redneck Kungfu. Cage was
staggered into the corner by a kick from Mark.
Cage leveled Cassidy with a lariat. Cage drove Cassidy to
the mat with a jackhammer, catching Orange midflight. Lance
Archer tagged in and slammed “Freshly Squeezed.” Don Callis
stomped on Orange behind the ref’s back.
Mark Davis walloped Orange with a vertical suplex. Orange
rocked Davis with a stun dog millionaire. Hobbs grabbed a
tag and slugged it out with Davis! Hobbs shoulder tackled
Davis. Hobbs got double teamed by the Murder Machines until
Hobbs clubbed them with a double clothesline.
Orange dropped an elbow off the shoulders of Hobbs onto
Davis. Bryan Keith jumped in to make the save and break the
pin attempt. Davis power bombed Hobbs. Keith kicked Hobbs in
the head with a full head of steam. Hobbs knocked Keith’s
block off with a lariat. Ospreay connected with a
springboard elbow.
Hobbs planted Davis with a spinebuster. Cage planted Hobbs
and then caught Cassidy. Cassidy countered with a DDT!
Cassidy spiked Cage with a second DDT, this time on the
arena floor. Keith headbutted Cassidy and then hit Cassidy
with an avalanche exploder.
Briscoe fired up and smashed Keith with an elbow strike.
Archer wiped out Briscoe with a lariat. Archer grabbed a
steel chair, but Briscoe hit the chair with a palm strike.
Briscoe catapulted off the chair and landed onto the Murder
Machines outside the ring. Ospreay connected with an Os
Cutter on Keith and then finished him off with the Hidden
Blade to score the pin!
After the bell, Mark Davis locked Ospreay into a sleeper!
The Murder Machines power bombed Hobbs onto the steel steps!
“Win, lose or draw the target was Will Ospreay this entire
time,” said Ian.
Kyle Fletcher came down to the ring. The Murder Machines
held Ospreay up. Kyle unleashed a flurry of frustration,
pounding Ospreay. Mark Davis pulled Fletcher back. Fletcher
screamed at Davis, berating him. Fletcher ordered Davis to
hit Ospreay with a steel chair, and Davis followed the
command. The fans chanted “You sold out” at Davis. Fletcher
nailed Ospreay with a brain buster onto a steel chair!
“The Rated R Superstar” Cope
vs.
AEW World Trios Champion The Death Riders’ Wheeler Yuta!
Cope blasted Yuta with a clothesline. Yuta grabbed an ankle
lock, but Cope transitioned and escaped, taking down Yuta
with an arm drag. Yuta connected with a dropkick.
Cope pounded on the back of Yuta, looking for a superplex.
Yuta fired back with a headbutt. Yuta connected with a
diving splash for a near fall on Cope. Cope slipped free of
the Cattle Mutilation and applied the Grindhouse cross face.
Yuta reversed it into a pinning predicament. Cope spiked
Yuta with the Impaler!
“This might be the beginning of the end for Yuta,” said Taz.
Cope went to spear Yuta, but Yuta countered with a knee
strike. Yuta locked on the Cattle Mutilation! Cope broke
free and planted Yuta face-first. Cope speared Yuta and
pinned Yuta!
Cope: “This is what respect feels like.”
Cope shook Wheeler’s hand, and Wheeler looked on in
confusion.
AEW World champion Jon Moxley got into the ring after Cope
left. Mox screamed, “What the hell was that?” Yuta pushed
Moxley aside and left the ring.
Mox followed Yuta to the back and told him to keep walking.
“If I see you again…”
Mox: “Congrats, Cope, you did it. I’m all alone. I’ll be all
alone at Revolution, defenseless. You think you can pick me
off like a sheep? Right. You’ve wasted my time and brought
out the worst in me. Congrats but the bars were there for
your safety. Now you’ve got me all alone but what are you
going to do to me on Sunday? You’ll do nothing! I’m going to
enjoy every second of beating your ass! You tried to show
Yuta respect? There is no respect in this business.
“You get respect one way in this business: when people know
you’re willing to pull the trigger. Sunday at Revolution
I’ve only got to pull the trigger once.”
A music video aired of The Outrunners training for their
match against AEW World Tag Team champions The Hurt
Syndicate on Sunday at Revolution!
MJF was outside, waiting the arrival of “Hangman” Adam Page!
Page: “Your cowboy is a coward.”
“Hangman” pulled up in his truck and almost ran over MJF,
who retreated! Page got out of the truck and began to stalk
MJF. Hangman found MJF in the arena and began to brawl with
him. Someone was dressed as MJF and screamed “He made me do
it!”
“It was a trap!” said Excalibur.
The real MJF ambushed Page. MJF baited in Page and kicked
him with a low blow. MJF spiked Page with the Heat Seeker.
MJF revealed a shirt with the words “MJF Did Nothing Wrong.”
MJF put on the Dynamite Diamond Ring and clubbed Adam Page
with it!
MJF: “You people love when your precious cowboy burns
things, don’t you. Let’s see how you hypocrites feel when I
do it.”
MJF grabbed lighter fluid and poured it on Adam Page! MJF
pulled out a lighter, but AEW security ran out and tackled
MJF, carrying him away.
Kris Statlander & Thunder Rosa
vs.
Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford!
Statlander grabbed a side headlock takeover on Ford.
Penelope dropkicked Rosa in the back of the head. Thunder
Rosa fired back with thunderous elbow strikes and a running
dropkick. Bayne booted Statlander.
Bayne caught Rosa and tossed Thunder Rosa over the top rope
and onto Statlander on the arena floor. Bayne picked up Ford
and threw her on top of the opposition!
Statlander came in and cleaned house, hitting Penelope with
a spinning Michinoku driver! Thunder Rosa catapulted off
Stat’s back and dropkicked Ford. Stat cracked Bayne with a
scissor kick. Thunder Rosa took flight and dropkicked Bayne
through the ropes.
Thunder Rosa fought off Bayne and Ford. Bayne planted
Thunder Rosa with Fate’s Descent and pinned Thunder Rosa!
Renee Paquette was backstage with TBS Champion “The CEO”
Mercedes Mone!
Mercedes: “I beat Momo before. She’s legit and one of the
best in Japan. But Renee, I am the greatest TBS champion of
all time. I’ll be watching Serena Deeb against Momo Watanabe
at Collision!”
Best Wrestler Alive Max Caster Open Challenge Match!
“Platinum” Max Caster vs. “Switchblade” Jay White!
White blasted Max with the Blade Runner and pinned Max!
White: “At World’s End ‘The Rated R Superstar’ joined the
fight against the Death Riders. And since that day that man
has had my back, and I have had his. And Moxley is all
alone. And at Revolution I will be there to see the new AEW
World champion Cope!”
Renee Paquette had a sit-down interview with AEW Women’s
World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mariah May ahead of
their match at Revolution!
Mariah May spat at Toni Storm!
Mariah: “Look what she made me do to someone I loved. You
are nothing without me. That title is nothing without me.
You survived me in Australia but there is no surviving me at
Revolution because we will both go down together. I am the
woman from hell, and I am dragging you down with me. Isn’t
this what you always wanted? A trilogy with your greatest
costar. We can have a Hollywood ending.”
Toni: “You do not deserve the dignity of death. I sentence
you to a lifetime of mediocrity.”
Road To Revolution Tag Match!
AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada
& Ricochet
vs.
Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana)
& The Hounds of Hell’s Brody King!
Ricochet and Okada double teamed Swerve after luring him in.
Brody cracked Okada and retaliated. Swerve tossed Ricochet
head over heels over the top rope. Brody splashed Okada and
Ricochet against the barricade like a runaway freight train.
Brody stacked up Okada and Ricochet on his shoulders while
Swerve nailed them with a double stomp!
Brody squashed Ricochet with a senton while Swerve followed
up with a flying European Uppercut. Swerve rocked Okada with
a back breaker. Brody and Ricochet tagged in for their
teams. Brody staggered Ricochet with a chop. Brody planted
Okada with a Death Valley Driver!
Brody used his strength to club Okada with a lariat. Swerve
tagged in and served up a series of elbows and then a hip
toss to Ricochet. Ricochet spiked Swerve with a DDT for a
near fall!
The fans chanted “This is awesome! This is awesome!”
Swerve rocked Ricochet with a flatliner and then connected
with the House Call kick! Swerve delivered the Swerve Stomp
and went for the cover, but Okada hit an elbow drop to break
up the pin attempt. Brody blocked the rainmaker attempt from
Okada and splashed Okada in the corner. Okada dodged a
cannonball in the corner.
Swerve smashed Okada with the House Call. Ricochet rammed
Okada’s title belt into Swerve, unbeknownst to the ref, and
stole the pin!
“If Ricochet defeats Swerve this Sunday at Revolution, he
can call himself the number one contender for the AEW World
championship,” said Excalibur.
