Even with the weekend's successful Wrestle Reunion event in the Philadelphia area, the main item on the minds of many CZW fans, and others who've seen or appreciated his work and his energy was the passing of Christopher "Chri$ Cash" Bauman on August 19.

Roc Higgins sent me the following on last week's funeral:

"I would like to start this out by thanking the family of Chris for allowing us to say our goodbye in person today. It was a very nice service and viewing.

There was many of the CZW family from wrestlers that I haven't seen in a year or more. Other wrestlers flew in just for the day, with others from the staff were there also. Fans came from Italy and Great Britain were there to pay their respects.

I haven't ever seen a bigger group together for a funeral except for politicians and other big named people. I got the chance to talk to Chris's father, who said he could never watch Chris wrestle because he was afraid he was going to get hurt; but got a chance to watch some of his matches during the past couple of days, saying that his boy was good at that also. He also said that he was going to sit down to watch all of them soon .

I haven't said much yet about Chris so here I go...

Chris lived every day to its fullest, always had a smile on his face and a smile for someone who needed one. He loved pro wrestling and the people around it. I'd never heard him say an ill word about anything or anyone.

He was always jacked up for a match and had the crowd in the palm of his hand from his first match; and always had time to talk to each and every fan even on the phone when they could not make it to a show. Chris LOVED life and we all could learn something from him."

CZW has undertaken a tribute show to support the family of Christopher Bauman 2:00 pm belltime on September 10, prior to the originally scheduled evening show. Admission is $10 at the door for the afternoon show for all that wish to attend (no advanced sales; seating will be first come, first serve).

All proceeds from this event will go to the Bauman Family. All performers and/or workers that wish to perform on this show in honor of Chris Cash are welcomed. More information will be available shortly.

In addition to the announcement from CZW, were these two comments from the Bauman family.

Bauman's aunt Sharon Frank was kind enough to send me the following about last week's column:

Hello,

I just wanted to say thank you for such a nice article about my nephew Chris.

All of the love and support has been helping his parents greatly. This was such a horrific accident, especially for us to lose 2 nephews in the same instant. His dad, Chris, is my brother, and Jeremy's dad Steve is also my brother...so you can imagine the intense pain and loss.

Thanks again,
Sharon Frank"

Chris's parents Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Bauman, Sr. sent the following to the CZWfans.com message board:

"To all members and fans of CZW:

Our deepest appreciation, thanks and love go out to each and every one of you.

The overwhelming amount of support, caring, and love that has been bestowed upon our family is beyond our wildest expectations.

We really want to thank everyone involved for their outstanding contributions in honoring our son with such fine and fitting tributes.

To Big and Little John C., thanks are not enough; your constant continuation of keeping our son's legacy alive only endears you to us evermore.

And to GQ, you will always be a brother to Chris and son to us. Thank you for being our rock through all of this.

During this most difficult of times when words do not come easily, it has been such a comfort to us to know and feel all the love that "Chris Ca$h" has received world-wide.

Our son loved life and lived it to the fullest. CZW was a big part of his heart. His family was the other. I am proud to say we shared his heart with you.

With deepest and most sincere thanks,
Mr. & Mrs. Christopher J. Bauman, Sr."

Sister Dana Kelli Bauman added the following:

"...Inside every one of us there lies another individual. Someone of which will exceed all goals, and accomplish a dream.

Chris lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He was supported by many friends, family, and most important his parents along with Devin and his sister, Dana.

Although Chris knew how to draw attention, we must not forget Jeremy, who was Chris’s cousin and one of his best friends. They both are truly loved, and forever missed. Special thanks goes out to everyone that has support the families of Chris and Jemery Bauman."

Until next time....
